BOTTLED WATER BAD FOR TEETH
At a recent scientific meeting of the American Public Health Association a report was presented which showed that children were more likely to have tooth decay if the water that they drink is bottled water (for example spring water or water that has had fluoride removed by reverse osmosis) compared to tap water.
Tap water has fluoride in it which safely protects teeth from decay. Most Australians have access to tap water. Some people do not like the taste of tap water – and the safest way to manage this is to have a tap filter installed. These filters remove substances which affect taste but do not remove fluoride.
